1. Plan to make a day of it. There are many vendors, and you want to make sure that you have time to speak with everyone you need to
2. Make a list of what you will need most and what your budget will allow for each item and service. Be sure to leave some room for the unexpected – you never know when you may see something you’ll want to have that you never thought of.
3. Wear comfortable shoes - you will be doing a lot of walking around and standing when speaking to all the vendors.
4. Bring along a friend. It is good to have someone to share the experience with and to offer a second opinion.
5. Bring pre-printed self-adhesive address labels with the following information: your name, address, phone, email and wedding date. This will save you time and allow you to sign up for drawings or anything you want very quickly.
6. Bring a notebook to record specific notes on each booth. Ask lots of questions. Jot down any price quotes or tips they may have to offer. The best way to find out whether or not a service is right for you is to always have a conversation. Collect any information you are interested in so you can review it once you get home.
7. Create a new e-mail account. Register for a free e-mail address that you can use when filling out forms. When the wedding is over you can cancel the account and not receive any unwanted wedding information.
8. Browse but do not necessarily plan to buy that day. Meet with the bridal vendors to see what they have to offer but do not be pressured to book their services at the show. Bring your checkbook and datebook just in case you want to book a service or give a deposit to hold a date.
9. Each show has a fashion show at the end of the day. Check out the gowns! Enjoy the different colors and styles. It will greatly assist you in your search for that perfect gown! Make certain to arrive early enough to get a really good seat. If you have already selected your wedding attire, you may wish to skip the fashion show in order to spend more time with the vendors.
10. Enjoy it! Bridal shows are fun! Remember, if you don't get it all done that day or weekend, there is another show in your area soon!
